Description

Inspired by my trip to India earlier this year and by my time with Hetal and her artisans at RaasLeela, together, we have created a beautiful Bébé Moiré version of the traditional Indian Torans, or entrance garlands.

Made using offcuts from previous collections, the garlands emulate the tradition of hanging mango leaves and marigolds to welcome guests into your home. The mango leaves are said to cleanse the air as it passes into the home, while the green colour provides a sense of ease and calm while warding off negative energy. Similarly, marigold flowers are thought to provide protection from the evil eye, while deterring insects with their scent.

Each garland has been made entirely by hand by RaasLeela’s skilled artisans including the hand-stitched (dori) string.

Each piece will differ slightly in colour and fabrication depending on offcuts selected.
